The Burberry World Live Tour Starts In Taipei

“We were thrilled to be in Taipei tonight to not only celebrate the opening of our new store here, but to also mark the beginning of Burberry World Live.
We created the Burberry World platform for our online community and tonight that came to life when we connected our guests with everything the brand stands for today, using original content to take them on an emotive and sensory journey, blurring the digital and physical dimensions of our brand.
It was incredibly exciting to be able to tell our story of British heritage, weather, music and fashion in this way for the first time against the vibrant backdrop of Taipei – we can’t wait to evolve Burberry World Live further as it tours cities around the globe later this year.”
Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer

Christopher Bailey hosted the first live event in Taipei on April 27th 2012. Marking the beginning of the Burberry World Live - a fully immersive, touring, 360° Burberry experience.
Guests at the event, co-hosted by Taiwanese musician Jolin Tsai, included Jessica (Girls Generation), Daniel Henney, Patina Lin, Sandrine Pinna, Edwin Ji, Ran Chen, Sandee Chan, Sunny Wang, Rhydian Vaughan, Tony Yang, Janet Hsieh, Annie Chen, Larisa, Stella Huang, Yi Chen, and Quin Yi Lee.

The multi-sensory experience, seeded at the Burberry Beijing event in April 2011, is the first to blur the physical and digital dimensions of the brand in front of a live audience, bringing to life the Burberry worlds of British heritage, fashion, music and weather.
The first Burberry World Live event, staged in a custom cylindrical space, combined an 8 part 360° film, live musical performance and digital weather experience, all directed by Christopher Bailey.
British musician Tom Odell, performed live for the first time at the event, accompanied by an orchestra from local Taiwanese colleges Burberry communities will be able to experience the event when content highlights will be unlocked on Burberry.com.
The event coincides with the celebration of the opening of the first Burberry flagship store in Taiwan, located at the Taipei 101 shopping centre, the biggest store in the Asia Pacific region.
Burberry Facebook fans in Taiwan were able to follow the event through pre, live and post event content including exclusive posts and videos by Christopher Bailey and Jolin Tsai.
The Burberry World Live will tour cities globally including London, Hong Kong and Chicago later this year in 2012.

Baroness Von Neumann Defines Luxury And Style With New Online Boutique

Tastemaker and philanthropist Baroness Monica von Neumann announces the launch of her namesake luxury home décor brand’s online boutique at baronesscandles.com. This is in time with the wider release of the well-received documentary entitled God Save My Shoes, in which she co-stars.
The Baroness von Neumann brand debuted with a grand suite of thirteen distinctive candles, including an exclusive limited edition holiday scent. Each encompasses all that is luxurious, organic, sensual and memorable. With names that include 55, Capri, Johan and Marrakech, each candle holds a story all its own. The scents are inspired by faraway places and standout people. Thus, they provide a sense of dreamy escape for any space, with coveted notes such as antique leather, accords of lilies, Italian basil and red amber.

“The inspiration behind the candles is to make the luxury experience accessible to everyone…it can make such a significant difference to one’s life,” says the Baroness.
“Even as a young girl in Detroit being raised by a single mother, I was exposed me to the good life,” von Neumann adds.

Across the globe, the film God Save My Shoes debuted during Paris fashion week in 2011. In recent weeks, it has been met with obsessive applause during the U.S. theatrical release in New York City, in which Baroness von Neumann was more than candid about her relationship with shoes, explaining that the price of a pair averages between $900 and $1,200. In her spot-on tutorial on how to walk in uncomfortable heels, the Baroness says that you need to “give a little bounce.”
The film also features designers and people of note such as Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Fergie, Dita Von Teese and Kelly Rowland. The documentary as well as the home fragrance line were featured in a recent edition of the Wall Street Journal in a piece titled, “Small Luxuries Light Up Los Angeles”.
