LOS CABOS, Baja California, Mexico (September 2011) – The title of Michael Gross’ next book says it all: Unreal Estate: Money, Ambition and the Lust for Land in Los Angeles. But you’ll have to wait until November, when the book is scheduled for release, to learn the salacious and shocking details of the L.A. land grab, and the driving personalities behind it. Or not.

You can get the inside scoop before anyone else. Just pack your bags for Los Cabos to attend a special event with Mr. Gross himself at internationally renowned Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort.

With Las Ventanas’ “Hot Type” program, advance copies of novels by best-selling writers – through an exclusive arrangement with top publishing houses – are made available to resort guests in advance of release to the bookstores. An exciting additional component of the program is an occasional “Hot Type Author Dinner.” The dinner with Mr. Gross will take place on Saturday, October 22 at the Five Diamond resort, and it will be unlike any of the other author dinners.

Guests will receive an advance copy of Unreal Estate: Money, Ambition and the Lust for Land in Los Angeles, and spend a fascinating and unforgettable evening with one of America’s most provocative and controversial writers getting the dirt on the battles and manipulations for L.A.’s prime real estate.

“With Michael Gross having established himself as such an intriguing literary figure in America today, we are looking forward to an evening punctuated with stimulating and revealing conversation,” said Martein van Wagenberg, Managing Director of Las Ventanas. “Guests will get the inside story on the deals and machinations that shaped the Los Angeles real estate scene, enjoy an extraordinary gourmet meal, and then go home with an advance copy of the book to read and great stories to tell family and friends.”

Michael Gross gained acclaim with such bestsellers as Model: The Ugly Business of Beautiful Women and 740 Park: The Story of the World's Richest Apartment Building. Unreal Estate: Money, Ambition and the Lust for Land in Los Angeles promises to be another blockbuster bestseller.

For the Hot Type Author Dinner, Executive Chef Fabrice Guisset will be creating an epicurean feast with an original five-course menu and wine pairing. Seating will be limited.

A special Hot Type Weekend Package was created specially for the event. It combines two tickets to the dinner with accommodations for two nights, breakfast daily and round-trip airport transfers, starting at $2,430, double occupancy.

Las Ventanas has been among the world’s most heralded resorts since it opened in 1997, celebrated for its personalized service, innovative amenities and romantic ambiance. Everything that's old is new again for Penelope Cruz. The Spanish actress sports vintage Ray-Bans, loves any Chanel bag, wears her grandmother's ring, and enjoys shopping at vintage stores in Los Angeles like Lily et Cie and Decades.

"No fuss" Renee Zellweger usually rocks it on the red carpet. The actress, who love Hermes and Christian Louboutin shoes, also likes looking for good deals at the Brimfield Antique Show in Massachusetts.

Brad Pitt finds himself on VF's list for the third year in a row. The actor, who often sports scarves and hat, also rocks a Tag Heuer watch and a David Yurman Black Diamond ring. His favorite wardrobe bargain? Make It Right Foundation T-shirts.

Kelly Ripa says her personal style is "easy, effortless dressing that's chic and modern, but not driven by trend." The talk show host also reveals that her fave place to go bargain hunting is Super Saturday, the annual Hamptons-based garage sale of designer fashions.

Celebrity News! Megan Fox Turns Down Bond Movie Role

Bond ... James Bond.
Not for Megan Fox! The “Transformers” actress has reportedly said no to being either shaken or stirred, and turned down a role in the upcoming 007 flick, known at the moment simply as “Bond 23.” The U.K.’s Daily Star claims the Fox-y one would “rather be a more central part of a movie” and not just a pretty face (or body). She’s all about being the leading lady, not just an accessory.
The brunette stunner isn’t the only actress to turn down playing Bond’s plaything: “Slumdog Millionaire” star Frieda Pinto also nixed a role in the latest film, while Sienna Miller, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron and Rachel McAdams shrugged off the role of Vesper Lynd that ultimately went to Eva Green in 2006’s “Casino Royale.”
Come on, ladies. Surely Daniel Criag doesn’t bite?

37th Annual Lifetime Achievement Awards Honors Michael Douglas

Michael Douglas followed in the footsteps of his father Kirk Douglas, by receiving the 37th Annual AFI Lifetime Achievement Award. The Royal Hollywood couple dazzled on the Red Carpet. Catherine Zeta-Jones shone in her her strapless maroon red Randi Rahm gown. With an embellished bodice and high split, she looked just divine next to her now iconic husband.

Matthew McConaughey and Camilla Alves looked just fabulous together. Camilla looked superb wearing a gorgeous electric teal Monique Lhuillier gown. Her look was completed with a silver VBH Python Stinger clutch with Swarovski crystals and matching jewelry.

Bai Ling dressed the part in this gorgeous bright yellow gown. But her moody looks, did not complete this dashing style.

And even though we loved Kathleen Turner over the years, we have for sure see her plight as well. Unfortunately this outfit does not complement Kathleen at all! The jacket is way too small, pant too large, and the shoes...well I will just stop there. Even though we adore Kathleen, I would for sure fire her stylist!
